Community Involvement
Community Involvement
The feeling of belonging extends well beyond the walls of our banks. It
spreads out into the community that has given us so much. We are proud of the many employees who generously donate so much of their time in support of charitable, civic, and professional organizations.

9/2/2008 — We Live United!
Union Bank's 2008 United Way Campaign was a tremendous success. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, the Dollar-A-Dog hot dog eating contest, a prize raffle and a corporate gift, Union Bank & Trust donated over $215,000 to the United Way and Community Health Charities of Nebraska.

8/12/2008 — Paint-A-Thon Rolls On
A home in north Lincoln was scraped, primed, painted, caulked and beautified as this year's Union Bank Paint-A-Thon team came together to help two deserving homeowners.

7/25/2008 — The Fight Against Cancer
Union Bank & Trust's Relay for Life team raised over $10,000 to support cancer research through the American Cancer Society. Twenty employees were on hand to walk, including those who camped out all night.

6/27/2008 — Barrels Full of Food
This year's Food Drive in support of the Food Bank of Lincoln was our most successful yet. Over 400 Lincoln employees teamed up to donate nearly 9,000 items and over $2,000 to this great cause.

5/17/2008 — It's All About Heart
145 Union Bank & Trust employees, family and friends came together in support of the American Heart Association's Heart Walk at Lincoln East High School. Union Bank & Trust employees raised nearly $17,000 to help the fight against heart disease.

4/23/2008 — Rolling In Donations for Big Brothers/Big Sisters
Over 100 Union Bank & Trust employees raised money as part of the Bowl-A-Thon to benefit Heartland Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Along with friends and family, employees raised $16,500 and filled all 32 lanes of the bowling alley!

4/20/2008 — Filling Their Bags, Fueling Their Minds
Oprah's Big Give: Lincoln was a tremendous success. Thank you to the Lincoln community for giving big! With Union Bank's matching $10,000 donation, we raised a total of $45,759 to support the Food Bank of Lincoln's Backpack Program. Special thanks to KLKN Channel 8 for their tremendous support.

3/3/2008 — Tremendous support for Volunteer Partners
93 Union Bank & Trust employees pledged 1,619 hours of volunteerism and nearly $1,400 as part of our Volunteer-a-Thon. Through Volunteer Partners, employees can choose from nearly 200 agencies and organizations that need their help.

2/5/2008 — Union Bank & Trust Employee Blood Drive
February marked the first of six 2008 blood drives. Fifty employees donated blood, enough to save 150 lives!

Our board of directors has established an annual share of earnings for
contributions back into the community in the areas of education, the
arts, and community betterment. In the past five years, the bank and
